Proposals and engagements

Send a proposal, convert it to an engagement, and sign it — the commercial pipeline.

Last updated 12/09/2026

Proposals and engagements are how you win and formalise work.

Creating a proposal

  1. Go to Commercial → Proposals & engagements.
  2. Under Proposals, click New proposal.
  3. Choose the client, add a title, optional amount and set the status (draft or sent).
  4. Save.

Converting a proposal

When a client accepts:

  1. On the proposal row, click Convert to engagement.
  2. A new offered engagement is created with the proposal's title and amount.
  3. The proposal is marked accepted and linked to the engagement.

Signing an engagement

  1. On the offered engagement, click Sign engagement.
  2. The engagement moves to signed, recording who signed it and when.

Engagement details

Engagements have:

  • Type — service, advisory, project, retainer, compliance or one-off.
  • Fee basis — fixed, monthly, annual, hourly or custom.
  • Fee amount — the agreed value.
  • Status — draft, offered, signed, active, suspended, completed, terminated.

The full pipeline

Proposal → accepted → engagement → signed → time/WIP → invoice → paid

Once signed, the work you log and the WIP you build for that client feed straight into invoicing.
